Google review cards for gyms and studios
January sign-ups are decided in December, on a phone, by people who are nervous about walking into a room full of strangers. Reviews are the only place they can find out whether the room is friendly before they commit.

Why it works for gym / studios
- “Gym near me, beginner friendly” is won by reviews that mention exactly that.
- Members who feel seen in week one are the ones who write about it.
- A card at the door converts the good feeling after a class.
Where to put the cards
- At the front desk, at hand height
- On the exit door, where people catch their breath
- In the changing room by the mirrors
- A4 by the class timetable
What the card should say
The template opens with this line, and you can change every word:
“Feeling stronger? A quick review helps people find the gym that actually shows up.”
Print it properly
- Download the A6 card — 105 × 148 mm at 300 dpi.
- Print at 100% (actual size). “Fit to page” softens the QR code.
- Scan it with your phone before printing a batch. It should open your review form.
- Cheap first run: use the 4-up A4 sheet on plain paper, cut it, and tape it up. Upgrade to 300 gsm once it works.
Never offer a discount for a review.
Google's policy forbids incentivised reviews and can remove them. These cards ask honestly — that's why they keep working.
Questions
When is the best moment to ask members?
Right after a class they enjoyed — the endorphins do the work. A card by the exit beats an email three days later.
Can we offer a free session for a review?
No. Google forbids incentivised reviews. Ask because you're proud of the room, not because you're paying for stars.
