Google review cards for restaurants
The best moment to ask for a review is between the last bite and the bill. By the time a diner is home, the meal is already three scrolls away — and the only people who bother writing are the ones who were unhappy.

Why it works for restaurants
- Reviews are the difference between a full Friday and an empty Tuesday.
- A card on the table catches people while they're still happy.
- No app for the guest, no tablet on the table, no monthly fee.
Where to put the cards
- A6 next to the salt and pepper
- On the bill tray
- At the door on the way out
- A4 in the window for passers-by
What the card should say
The template opens with this line, and you can change every word:
“How was your meal? Your honest review helps our little kitchen keep going.”
Print it properly
- Download the A6 card — 105 × 148 mm at 300 dpi.
- Print at 100% (actual size). “Fit to page” softens the QR code.
- Scan it with your phone before printing a batch. It should open your review form.
- Cheap first run: use the 4-up A4 sheet on plain paper, cut it, and tape it up. Upgrade to 300 gsm once it works.
Never offer a discount for a review.
Google's policy forbids incentivised reviews and can remove them. These cards ask honestly — that's why they keep working.
Questions
Do guests actually scan these?
They scan when the card is on the table and the meal was good — the ask lands at the moment of maximum goodwill. Test with one table for a week.
Can we offer a free dessert for a review?
No. Google forbids incentivised reviews. The card copy in the tool is written to ask honestly instead.
